SIALKOT: MNA Ch. Daniyal Aziz has directed the district administration to ensure the early repairing and strengthening the safety and protective dykes and embankments of the swollen seasonal Naullah Baeen in a bid to avert the further breaches in it near the recently flooded villages Shahpur, Chanjora and Chak Jeendhar near Shakargarh.
He made these directions while visiting the flood-hit villages Shahpur Bhangu, Dhadwal, Chanjora, Chak Jheendar and Hajipur Gujjran of Shakargarh tehsil here today. Local MPA Rana Manan Khan, DCO Narowal Syed Najaf Iqbal, Rabia Ghiyasud Din, EDO (Finance) Mohammad Iqbal Akhtar and XEN Irrigation Shakargarh Mohammad Arshad were also present on this occasion.
MNA Ch. Daniyal Aziz reviewed in details the flood devastation and recently occurred damages of houses and seasonal crops there due to the breaches in the dykes and embankments of Naullah Baeen and River Ravi near Shakargarh there. He asked the concerned officials of the Irrigation Department to ensure the early establishment of a dyke with total cost of Rs. 1.12 million there to stop the ongoing erosion caused by the faster flow of flood water in overflowed Naullah Baeen near village Chak Jeendhar-Shakargarh.
He pledged to leave no stone unturned to save the Shakargarh rural areas from recurring flood threats, in this regard.
