Islamabad police to get training in Turkey


Bahawalpur: Minister of State for Education and Interior Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman has said that federal police Islamabad officials would be trained in Turkey so they could cope with any emergent situation while an inter -provincial education ministers’ conference will be held in the first week of July in Islamabad in which decision to establish Educational Curriculum Council will be finalized.

Talking to PPI at his residence last evening, the minister said that federal government would equip Islamabad police with modern and sophisticated weapons. He rejected an

impression regarding rift between government and security establishment saying instead there is close coordination and liaison between them.

Minister stated the PML-N government was laying a network of development projects across South Punjab to change its destiny. Baligh ur Rehman cited the examples of mega projects in Bahawalpur region and said that decisions to  establish Pakistan first solar power project , cardiology hospital and Veterinary university in Bahawalpur, construction of  dual

carriageway from Bahawalpur to Hasilpur were  fresh initiatives of PML-N government for the citizens and rural populace of Bahawalpur.

Minister of State said the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was striving to make Pakistan an Asian Tiger in economy and defence while its policies had started bearing fruit.

He claimed that new federal budget is pro-people in which huge funds have been allocated for the development of seven development sectors including electricity, water, education, science and technology.

He said that these funds would be increased every year and be helpful in the provision of quality education and the promotion of advanced research and development. He said that Nawaz government is giving top priority to overcome power shortage and 21,000 MW of electricity will be added to the national grid in the next seven to eight years.

Baligh ur Rehman asked the opposition parties to play positive role in assemblies rather try to

disturb peaceful atmosphere by organizing rallies and staging demonstrations. To a question, he told that required funds were being earmarked for his proposed projects in his constituency, NA-185 Bahawalpur 1 where during last five years billions of rupees were spent in the implementation of dozens of projects. Establishment of Women University, District Head Quarter Civil Hospital and construction of northern bypass and flyover and Special Education College in Bahawalpur are prominent projects, executed in previous Shahbaz Sharif government, the minister concluded.
