Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Al-kidmat Foundation has started massive relief operation in Chitral while Provincial Amir of Jamat-e-Isalami has directed senior provincial minister for local government to forthwith reach the affected districts and supervise the relief and rehabilitation operation.
Speaking to a news conference on Tuesday Provincial Chief of JI Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan said that JI would provide all possible assistance to the affected people of District Chitral.
“We have launched a massive relief operation in Chitral through Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF) and for the purpose AKF provincial chief Noorul Haq has been asked to reach the district on Wednesday besides Provincial Minister of LG Inayatullah Khan would also reach Chitral on the same day to supervise relief operation,” Professor said.
He said Jamat-e-Islami has also started distribution of cash amount among the affected people besides trucks of edibles items have also been dispatched for the district. “We would stand by our affected people of Chitral till their rehabilitation,” he said.
He said that AKF and JI teams have been assisting the local people for rehabilitation of small water channels and for the purpose they have also been provided cash amount.
Professor Ibrahim urged both federal and Provincial Governments to utilize their full government machinery for assistance of the affected people of Chitral as flash floods and rains have caused havoc in the district.
To a question, he said that CM Khyber Pukhtunkhwa should announced a big relief package for the affected people of Chitral as Rs one million would mean nothing to heal the wounds of the affected people.
