LANDIKOTAL: Jamat-e-Islami workers and leaders staged a protest rally against the seizure of non-custom paid vehicles in Landikotal.
A score of JI workers headed by JI Landikotal ameer Murad Hussain marched in Landikotal. They were holding banner and flags and chanted slogans against the seizures of NCP vehicles.
Addressing the rally Murad Hussain said that it was not fair to push the tribal people towards extremism. He said that none custom paid vehicles were the lone source of income of the poor people , adding that most of the owners of the seized vehicles were being used as taxi cabs.
Murad Hussain said that seized vehicles of the poor residents had created unrest while officials of the Khyber Agency and Khasadars personnel were still using NCP luxury cars.
Hasan Shinwari and Abdur Rauf Shinwari also addressed the rally saying that dozens of the poor families have been deprived of their source of livelihood. The JI leaders condemned this act and added that the NCP vehicles should be registered as have been done in Malakand division and other parts of Fata.
The JI leaders appealed from the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chief of Army Staff to help release the seized vehicles so that the poor tribesmen could earn for their families.
