KHAIRPUR: Managing Director Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi took no responsibility of water shortage in the city while acknowledging it as a ‘reality’ and blamed K-Electric for the crisis on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
As per KWSB release, he along Deputy Managing Director Technical Services Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Chief Engineer Ghulam Qadir Abbas and other senior officers visited different areas of the city to review supply and drainage of water.
MD KWSB said water crisis was a reality and power breakdown from KE was increasing the water shortage. Meanwhile, KWSB officers should make water supply judicious due to the sensitivity of the situation so that every area could get necessary water.
“Where there is shortage of water, water will be provided through free water tankers there,” he said.
Zaidi directed DMD technical services and district chief engineers to visits their areas and resolve water issue complaints.
He also visited the replacement work of sank down sewerage line in Quaidabad and directed to complete the work forthwith.
