Khuhro distributes furniture in schools

LARKANA: Sindh Minister for Education Nisar Khuhro has said that present Sindh government is taking steps for improving education sector so that students can get better education.

This he said while distributing school furniture, including desks among various schools of Larkana city, such as Government Sachal Boys School, Government Shaikh Zaid School, Government Girls High School and Government Pilot Higher Secondary School.

Khuhro said that previously school funds were not properly utilized and now they were being given to the schools out of which furniture, cold water coolers etc would be procured.

Khuhro said that it was old demand of the schools that age old furniture & desks should be replaced. He said that all demands of every school whether in a village, town, taluka or district headquarter would be fulfilled.

Talking to media, he claimed that repair work of all primary and secondary schools and colleges across Sindh was being carried out and committees had been formed for imparting quality education at every stage from primary to college level.

He said that evening shifts had also been introduced in schools so that those children earning livelihood during day time for their families could get education in evening shift classes.

Education minister further said that electricity crisis was being faced in Sindh and they were trying to get it finished at least in schools but in fact this job pertains to federal government which must ensure that uninterrupted power supply should be given to all educational institutions and hospitals in the country.

He said that they had planned to celebrate cleanliness day in schools and colleges because it was the fundamental necessity. Khuhro announced that those students who had secured 1st and 2nd positions in recent annual exams would be rewarded today (Monday) with computers at Government Pilot Higher Secondary School.
