Karachi: On the directives of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain, Member National Assembly (MNA) Mohammad Muzammil Qureshi held an open kachehry in Gulshan-e-Maymar here on Tuesday.
The third open kachehry was held in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Sector 33, Union Council 12, near Rabia Flower, in which residents of the area apprised the MNA of their problems.
The majority of people complained about electricity outages and water shortage. According to complainants, the area residents are facing serious power load shedding and outages. The area also faces acute water shortage. People have been compelled to purchase water from tankers and shops.
After hearing complaints of the residents, Qureshi assured them that he would make all possible measures to provide relief to them. He directed relevant officers of KWSB and KE to resolve electricity and water problems respectively.
Talking on the occasion, Qureshi said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain taught them lesson to service the people without any discrimination. He said,” Following the lesson of Altaf Hussain, we are arranging open courts to resolve people’s problem”.
Municipal commissioner Baldia East Nadir Khan, Assistant commissioner Gulzar Hijri, Director Solid Waste Mubeen Siddiqui, representatives of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), K-Electric (KE) and Deputy Commissioner Office were also present on the occasion.
