NAUNDERO: Prolonged electricity failure hit Ratodero, Naundero, Larkana, Madeji, all surrounding villages and other towns, affecting thick fog-stricken people in the region.
The consumers, traders, businessmen and commuters, including rice mill owners, faced hardships due to power outage since 3am to 2pm on Tuesday. The power supply was restored at 2.00 pm on Tuesday. Worst affected were the students and those people who had to leave their hometowns to earn livelihood or perform their duties.
There was almost zero visibility with very few vehicles plying on the roads with emergency lights. Severely affected were the Hospitals where operations were either postponed or generators were started to carryout emergency operations. Increase in cold weather forced poor people to remain at homes as chilly winds later in the day were also affecting them seriously. Sale of used warm clothes and shoes have also increased manifold.
