SIALKOT: Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the PTI would not build any political pressure on the present government in a bid to give it an easy way to struggle with full devotion and dedication to resolve the prolonged perturbing problems, especially curbing the menace of energy crisis and sky-rocketing price hike in the country.
He stated this while addressing a press conference at Jinnah House here on Monday. PTI Central Deputy General Secretary Umer Dar and PTI local leaders Usman Dar, Khawaja Arif Ahmed, Shamshad Ahmed Bajwa and Shah Nawaz Cheema were present on this occasion.
Replying to a question, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that it was not the right time to do the politics of protest as present situation in the country could not bear the further politics of protest.
He said that everyone should come forward to play his role in economical and political stability in the country. He said that though the value of rupee was increased against the US dollar, but the fruits of this devaluation of it were not reaching to the common man. He asked the PML-N government to take concrete measures to reduce the power prices, curb the menace of the sky-rocketing price hike and unemployment, besides, controlling the electricity pilferage and line losses as well, alleging that the government still remains failed to control these things.
He said that the PTI wanted durable peace in the country to ensure writ of the government. He said that the interference in the national issues was not in favour of the country.
He announced that the PTI will take part in detailed discussions on national security policy during an important meeting of Foreign Relations Committee scheduled to be held at Islamabad on April 04, 2014.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi asked the government to ensure protection of the journalists in country, besides due respect to them, as they are eyes and ears of the society.
