Chakwal: The role of middle man regarding the purchase of wheat have been finished and the Govt. will pay direct to the farmers of their wheat/. This was stated by provincial minister for social welfare Haroon Ahmed Bukhari on Tuesday while presiding over the meeting at DCO Office Chakwal. ADC Medam Sherin Naz, DOC Shahbaz Naqvi, Assistant Commissioners, TMO’s, the preventative of local parliamentarian attended the meeting.
The minister told that Chief Minister Punjab have fixed the target of purchase of 4 million ton wheat in the Punjab province. While 1 thousand metric ton target have been fixed for barani areas district.
The minister was confident that paying direct to the farmers would enable them to boost up so that they would cultivate wheat in near future. The minister expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made by the district govt. regarding the purchase of wheat.
The minister was told that purchasing centers have been opened for the farmers at Chakwal and Talagang, The Tehsil headquarters. Minister was told that purchase of wheat would start from 5th May in the purchasing centre.
