SEPCO man beaten up for disconnecting illegal power line

NAUNDERO: SEPCO Naundero sub-division’s lineman Saeed Kandhar was beaten up by Narejo community people in Dhodial Shah Muhalla here on Tuesday when he disconnected their illegal direct electricity line. Kandhar lodged a report at Naundero police station against six Narejo community persons including Ali Jan Narejo and Ghulam Ali Narejo but police are yet to take action.

The SEPCO employees after hearing the news observed a pendown strike in the sub-division and held a protest demonstration against the highhandedness of the unlawful consumers. The protest was led by their WAPDA Hydro Labour Union Chairman Intezar Hisbani and participated by Babu Shaban Panhwar, Abdul Qadir Dayo, Ghulam Hussain Memon, Mushtaque Rahujo, and others.

The protesters chanted slogans and told media that Sepco employees are serving people day and night during hot and cold weathers but in return, they are always beaten up, which should be condemned. They said that the neighbours came to the rescue of the affected lineman when he was being tortured by the Narejo community.
