Why govt not taking action against Altaf, asks PML-F leader

NAUNDERO: Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MNA Ghous Bux Mahar has said that federal and Sindh government’s silence over the hate speech of Muttahia Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain is baffling. He asked why action has not so far been taken against him despite availability of solid proofs of their connections with Indian spy agency RAW.

Talking to media here Saturday, he said that MQM has also been talking of breaking Sindh but the Sindh Government is working overtime to facilitate them. “The Ganges flows in wrong direction here”.

Mahar who came here to condole with a local PPPP office-bearer over the demise of his mother, said that MQM had told PML-F Chief Pir Pagara after leaving Sindh government that Shaharyar Khan Mahar will remain the opposition leader in Sindh assembly. He said Shaharyar Khan Mahar s not liked by the Sindh Chief Minister & Speaker Sindh Assembly, now a friendly opposition leader is brought in Sindh assembly.

He said under the NFC award Sindh should be given more funds because it is contributing more.

Commenting over prevailing law & order situation in the province, Mahar caustically remarked that the presently in Sindh a goat and loin are not only drinking water from the same stream but also if the goat hits the lion, the lion would say ‘sorry’ and not the goat. He said law & order in Sindh will not improve without the help of army.

He announced that his party will certainly contest local bodies’ elections in Garhi Yasin Taluka and elsewhere in Shikarpur district.

He declined to comment over ongoing dispute between PPP leader Asif Zardari and his old crony Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza.
