Islamabad, May 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamabad capital police apprehended 16 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.

Following these directives, the Aabpara police teams arrested two accused namely Jameel and Yasir involved in possessing illegal weapons and selling liquor and recovered 25 liters liquor and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession. Likewise, the Bhara Kahu police team arrested two accused namely Raja Qaiser and Bilal Khan and recovered 20 bottles liquor from their possession.

Similarly, the Phulgran police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Nauman involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered 1910 gram heroin, 640 gram Ice and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Tarnol police team arrested an accused namely Zubair Khan involved in possessing illegal and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.

Moreover, the Industrial Area police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Nisar and recovered 02 repeaters one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Shams Colony police team arrested an accused namely Amjad Ali involved in drug peddling and recovered 515 gram hashish from his possession. The Koral police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Atif involved in drug peddling and recovered 535 gram hashish from his possession.

Furthermore, the Khanna police teams arrested four accused namely Arshad Mehmood, Muhammad Afzal, Syed Hadi and Abdul Jaleel involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered two 30 bore pistols, one 9mm pistol and one 308 bore rifle with ammunition from their possession.

The Lohi Bher police team arrested an accused namely Khalid Mehmood involved in drug peddling and recovered 543 gram heroin from his possession. The Kirpa police team arrested an accused namely Ayaz Javed involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered weapon from his possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.

CPO/ DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons and said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
