A school near Bhutto’s home town closed for 14 years, used as guest house

GARHI KHUDA BUX: The government primary school of Wandh Sikander Bhutto neighborhood, was being used as a guest house (Otaq) and is allegedly locked since last 14 years, PPI learnt Monday.

Surprisingly, no relevant official, Taluka Education Officer (TEO) Ratodero, has got it opened, which is a matter of great concern and contradictory to the government claim of keeping among its top three priorities.

In this connection, residents Waqar Bhutto, Mashuq Bhutto, Ashiq Bhutto, Asim Bhutto and children Waqas, Heer, Shahzeb, Shazia, and Taufiq told media today that Naseer Soomro, working as headmaster of the school, comes to the school only once a month, signs the muster roll and register and then leave.

They alleged that he also takes a bribe of Rs4000 per month from the peon and the keys of the school have been handed over to the influential people of the village who use the school as their personal Otaq. The school chairs, benches, tables, cookers, solar plates and other equipment are also missing as teachers are drawing taxpayers money while sitting at home being very influential, they further alleged.

The villagers have urged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Minister of Education Sardar Shah to take immediate notice of the issue and action against the negligent officials, teachers and staff of the school so that education of the students should not suffer.
