SIALKOT: Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has sought the complete record of 25 fugitive notorious criminals from Revenue Department, NADRA and Foreign Office, besides, seeking help of the Interpol for their early arrest from abroad.
Assistant Director ACE Aitzaz Munir Gondal told the newsmen that the early arrest of notorious proclaimed offenders (POs) has become a big challenge for police. These criminals belong to Gujranwala Division’s six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts. He added that as many as 25 out of the 40 notorious criminals had fled away to abroad especially Dubai and Malaysia.
He said that the record of properties of above mentioned fugitive criminals has also been sought from revenue department. Their moveable and non-moveable properties would be confiscated by the government.
He said the ACE has also started taking legal action against all those applicants for submitting the baseless and fictitious applications. The ACE has also submitted petitions against 25 accused persons under section 182 PPC before the local courts. The ACE has taken legal action in a bid to discourage the growing trend of filing fake and bogus applications.
