Ratodero, Sindh: A token ‘pen-down strike’ was observed by the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) in Larkana for two hours. They also took out a protest rally and held demonstration at Jinnah Bagh roundabout, near Larkana Press Club for acceptance of their demands. They were led by their senior provincial vice president Farooq Jalbani, Larkana district president Aijaz Mirani, Rasul Bux Abbasi, Ghulam Hussain Pitafi and others holding large banners and chanting slogans.
Talking to newsmen Aijaz Mirani said that their demands s include 100% upward revision of pay scales during the next annual budget of 2014-15, award of Services Structure & Time Scale since 2010 of all low paid government servants, award of 80% utility allowance since 2011, award of house rent, medical allowance and conveyance allowance at the rate of 75% according to 2011 scales, group insurance & benevolent fund for retired employees, reservation of 33% son quota for retired government servants, opening of Clerk Foundation for clerical staff adjustment of all adhoc allowance in basic pay scales and confirmation of jobs of all contract employees since 2008.
The protest was joined by the clerks of Irrigation, Population, Health, Agriculture Workshop, Roads, Fisheries, Sindh Small Industries, Education, Education Works, Food, Local Government, Sindh Technical Colleges and other units of APCA.
