Customs seizes Rs110m drugs being smuggled to Europe

DERA MURAD JAMALI:Collectorate of Customs Balochistan claimed to have foiled a bid to smuggle 370 kilograms of high quality hashish and eight kilograms of opium worth Rs110 million in an operation in Notal area of Dera Murad Jamali on Monday.

According to Collectorate of Customs Balochistan, a customs team seized 370 kilograms of high quality hashish and eight kilograms opium worth Rs110 million, reported to be smuggled to Europe, from the cavities of a 10-wheeler truck laden with gravel in an operation at Notal check post in Dera Murad Jamali area.

However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the scene. The operation was conducted by Superintendent, Khurshid Hasni, Inspector Ali Ahmed Lehri, and Inspector Nadeem Tahir under the supervision of Additional Collector, Yasir Wahab Kalur and Assistant Collector Customs Umair Khan.
