District: Sialkot’s female colleges facing shortage of teaching staff

Sialkot: Most the female government colleges in Sialkot district have been facing shortage of teaching staff due to which the local students had been suffering from great educational loss, in this regard. As many as 52 posts of the teachers had been lying vacant in the Sialkot women colleges since long.

According to the senior officials of Sialkot education department (Colleges Wing), there were 91 seats of the lecturers, assistant professors and professors sanctioned in these girls’ colleges, out of which only 39 teachers were performing their duties. The posts of the teachers of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, Economics, History, Home Economics, Islamiyat, Nursing Education, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Political Science and Maths have been lying vacant at Govt. Postgraduate College for Women Sialkot, Govt. Girls Degree College Hajipura-Sialkot, Govt. Girls Degree College Kapoorwali-Sialkot, Govt. Allama Iqbal College for Women Sialkot, Govt. Postgraduate College for Women Daska, Govt. Girls Degree College Pasrur, Govt. Girls Degree College Qila Kalarwala-Pasrur and Govt. Girls Degree College Bhopalwala in Sambrial tehsils.

This nasty situation was also enough to assess the height of negligence of the local elected representatives, in this regard. The shortage of the teaching staff was badly affecting the studies of the local girls students due to which, the students and their parents were much perturbed. They have expressed grave concern over this situation , urging the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Khawaja Shamail Ahmed and Sialkot DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu to take serious notice of this critical situation in the larger interest of the local students, besides, making some effective measures to ensure the early appointments of the above mentioned posts of teachers , lying vacant since long in the said female colleges.
