Drug Regulatory Authority fixes prices of life-saving drugs

Lahore: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has fixed prices of 20 different life-saving drugs, it emerged Thursday. The drugs which prices are fixed are used for treating cancer drugs, AIDS and blood pressure (different mgs).

The DRAP has released a formal notification regarding fixation of medicine prices after getting approval from the federal cabinet. According to the notification, the price of drug treating lungs cancer was fixed at Rs 172,320. The price of breast cancer medicine was set at Rs 199,741. Moreover, Xlatan tablet 50mcg eye drops price was fixed at Rs 1,519. Meanwhile Zofran 8mg tablet price was set at Rs 3,907. Lastly, the price of Aclasta 100ml solution fixed at 27,514.
