Khairpur, Sindh: Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur is organizing a two-day International Conference on “Environmental Issues of Sindh: and Its Remedies.”
In this regard a meeting of Organizing Committee for the holding of International Conference on “Environmental Issues of Sindh: and Its Remedies” was held on Thursday.
Prof Dr. Miandad Zardari, Pro-Vice Chancellor, main Campus presided over the meeting. The two day international conference is being organized by the Department of Microbiology, SALU, Khairpur, in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, WWF, Pakistan and Sindh Green Environmental Forum (SGEF) on 09-10 April 2014.
On this occasion, Prof Dr. Nisar Ahmed Kanhar, Director Post Graduate Studies and conference Secretary briefed the meeting that 7 scholars from U.K, China and Uganda and 75 scholars from Pakistan will attend the conference, while, 83 papers on various environmental issues i-e environmental degradation, global warming, scarcity of water, food security etc will be presented.
Prof Zardari said that environmental issues are very sensitive and important, because these issues affect our environment badly. He said that this conference will pave the way for the solution of the emerging environmental issues of Sindh and recommend its modalities to the concerned quarters.
The meeting was attended among others by Prof Dr. Badaruddin Memon, Prof Dr. Ghulam Sarwar Markhand, Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaque Mahar, Prof Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Prof Dr. Shafique Ahmed Arain, Prof Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Prof Dr. Syed Noor Shah Bukhari, Dr. Abdul Manan Shaikh, Riaz Ahmed Mangi, Ms. Shahida Mangi, Abdul Aziz Shaikh, Registrar, Syed Madah Hussain Shah, M Khalil Ahmed Shaikh and Mr. Khushi Mohammad Shaikh.
