Ratodero, Sindh: A reporter of a TV news channel, injured in firing at Badah village Tuesday evening, died in a hospital of Larkana on Wednesday. A senior Journalist succumbed to his bullet injuries in Casualty of Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, on Wednesday morning.
According to details, Shan Dahar, a reporter of Ab Tak News Channel, had gone to his hometown, Badah, where he received bullet injuries as unknown men opening indiscriminate aerial firing to celebrate New Year.
He was rushed to the Casualty of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Larkana, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning.
Local journalists alleged that the journalist died due to negligence of hospital staff. They staged a sit-in in front of the Casualty Department and demanded action against duty doctors and senior consultants of CMC.
Commissioner Larkana, Dr. Saeed Mangnejo hold talks with the protesting journalists and requested them to call off their protest. However, the journalist demanded of the government to announce compensation for the bereaved family and free education to the two daughters left behind by the deceased.
Finally the body was shifted to mortuary of CMCH for conducting postmortem when Sindh Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, on telephone, assured the journalists that compensation would be paid to the bereaved family. He also directed Larkana Commissioner to hold an inquiry whether any negligence has been made by the duty doctors of CMCH at Casualty while treating the patient. He also directed SSP Larkana to register FIR of the incident.
