Chitral: In the wake of recent threats to Ismaili and Kalash communities by Taliban a grand peace conference (Jirga) was held at Bumborat Kalash Valley Friday, presided over by Col Naeem Iqbal, Commandant Chitral Scouts.
It was also attended by Deputy commissioner Chitral Muhammad Shuaib Jadoon, District Police Officer Ghulam Hussain, Major Murtaza officer commanding , as well as, elites from Kalash, Ismaili and Sunni communities.
Addressing to the moot Col Naeem Iqbal said that Chitral
Scouts, Police, border police, elite force and Pakistan Army have been deployed on all borders and are red alert to meet with any challenge.
He urged the local people not to take the threat seriously as the video released by Taliban was old and made in 2011.
He said after the matter was projected in media the Supreme Court of Pakistan also took suo moto notice.
Elites from Kalash, Sunny and Ismaili community said that they hope that they will be protected by the security forces. They demanded from the government to construct roads and give better facilities to residents of the valley. They demanded giving preference to local in recruitment in border security forces, police and Chitral scouts.
