NAUDERO, Sindh: Primary Teachers Association has chalked out detailed programme of protests in order to press the government for acceptance of their demands.
Their central Secretary General, Liaquat Deedar, told media here on Monday that their peaceful protests started from today (Monday) by holding a token hunger strike. He said primary teachers of Larkana & Sukkur divisions will gather at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto on January 23 to stage a large demonstration.
Deedar said that after that they will march from Garhi Khuda Bux to Naundero House where they will stage a sit-in in which will continue till acceptance of their demands.
He further said if the government failed to accept their demands then they will again hold an All Parties Conference in Hyderabad on January 29 and then began a long march by foot from Bhit Shah on March 03 which will reach Chief Minister House in Karachi and converted into a protest sit-in there.
He further added that on the very next day 25 teachers will start hunger strike at Karachi Press Club in which one primary teacher from each district will participate which will continue till their demands are accepted.
The demands of primary teachers include giving Basic Scale-16 to all primary teachers working in Sindh, approving their son quota, time scale, increaser in teaching allowance, group Insurance to retired teachers, and regular payment of monthly salaries to the Sindhi Language Teachers.
