RATODERO: How hard earned tax payers money is wasted by the Sindh Health Department is evident from two notifications it issued recently deciding their period as awaiting for posting and allowed them to draw their salaries from Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, though they did not performed their duties here for a signle minute. These two senior doctors of BPS-19 include Dr. Syed Mehboob Ali Shah now looking after the charge of District Health Officer, Kambar-Shahdadkot and Dr. Agha Iftikhar Ahmed, District Health Officer, Sukkur. Dr. Shah has been allowed to draw salary for 101 days as intervening period with effect from 01.4.2013 to 10.7.2013 as joining time/awaiting period and allowed to draw salary for the above period against the vacant post of Chief Medical Officer (BS-19) CMCH vide Health Department Notification No: SOI(SGA&CD)-2/4/2013 (H-14), dated: 07th November, 2013.
On the other hand Dr. Agha has been allowed to draw salary for 103 days from 01.05.2013 to 11.8.2013 on the same grounds as intervening period as awaiting posting and has been allowed to draw his salary for the said period against the vacant post of Chief Medical Officer (BS-19) CMCH, vide Notification No: SOI(SGA&CD)-2/4/2013 (H-56), dated: 20th November, 2013.
A senior officer of BS-19 must be drawing monthly salary of over Rs:1,25,000/- and the Health Department allowed each of the above doctors to draw salary without discharging their professional duties for the betterment and treatment of ailing mankind of the province is a million rupees question which must be replied by the bosses of the Health Department that under what laws of land they allowed this recreation of over three months period to these doctors when so many posts are still lying vacant in various hospitals of Sindh and why they were not posted anywhere. If there is any such law then is it applicable as well to the low grade employees of the government whose salaries are deducted for remaining absent from government duties if they are showed mercy of dismissal or not removed from service as, after all, all are equal in the eyes of law.
There are so many such incidents where doctors and other bureacrates are allowed to draw salaries as awaiting posting period which is sheer negligence of concerned department for which their bosses must be taken to task as they waste tax payers money without coget reason or justification.
