Karachi, The BankIslami Pakistan Limited has announced that an Extraordinary General Meeting of its shareholders will be held on May 10, 2023, in Karachi to elect new Directors for the next term of three years. Seven (11) directors will be elected for the board of the Bank, and the shareholders will vote to elect them from the list of candidates who have offered themselves for election.

The list of candidates includes Mr. Ali Hussain, Dr. Amjad Waheed, Mr. Akhtar Abbas, Mr. Haider All Hilaly, Ms. Iffat Zehra Mankani, Mr. Imran Iqbal Panjwani, Dr. Lalarukh Ejaz, Mr. Muhammad Qasim, Mr. Suleman Lalani, Mr. Suleiman Sadruddin Mehdi, and Mr. Syed All Hasham.

The number of persons who have offered themselves for election is more than the number of Directors fixed by the Board. Therefore, the election of Directors will be held to declare Seven (I1) elected Directors of the Company for the next term of three years.

The Bank has requested its shareholders to participate in the Extraordinary General Meeting and exercise their right to vote. The Bank has also informed its shareholders that the Share Transfer Books of the Company shall remain closed from May 04, 2023, to May 10, 2023 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of determining the entitlement of shareholders for attending and voting at the General Meeting.
