SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ch. Ehsan Iqbal has sought the cooperation of Ulema belonging to all sects to come forward and play their pivotal role in forging religious and sectarian harmony, unity, peace, faith and brotherhood, besides, averting to hurt the religious sentiments of the people belonging to any sect.
He stated this while presiding over an important meeting of District Peace Committee held at Narowal here. MPA Khawaja Waseem Akhtar and Assistant Commissioners of Narowal, Shakargarh and Zafarwal tehsils and local senior journalists were present on this occasion.
Federal Minister urged the Muslim Ummah to be united and shun their sectarian differences for the glory of Islam and curbing the menace of anti-Islam and anti-Muslim global conspiracies of the Non-Believers.
He revealed that the terrorists have no religion, as every religion of the world gives the lesson of love and peace and respect of the humanity. He added that the present wave of terrorism was a conspiracy against the nation and the country as well.
He urged the Ulema, traders, teachers, social workers, politicians and notables to play their role in promoting religious and sectarian harmony, brotherhood, unity, faith and peace in the society during the month of Muharram. He said that it was the demand of the day to forge unity in our ranks.
Federal Minister said that no one would be allowed to sabotage the peace in the region. He also urged the Ulema to help the administration to ensure promotion of regions and sectarian harmony in the society.
Ch. Ehsan Iqbal narrated that sectarian harmony and unity among the ranks of the Muslims was the need of hour which could help resolve the problems being faced to the Ummah. He said that under the present scenario of the society the early restoration of public confidence on police is also direly needed for promoting the good policing.
District Peace Committee also urged the Ulema to shun their sectarian differences in larger national interest and glory of Islam. It was told that miscreants if found would be dealt with the iron fist. No one would be allowed to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere in the country.
