Karachi: WWF-Pakistan is observing Green Environment Week with Al Baraka Bank linking Al Baraka’s Islamic banking concept with its approach for a clean and healthy future for the better of mankind.
WWF-Pakistan is renovating National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Jinnah Hospital Karachi by providing a water dispenser, air conditioners, painting the ward and planting saplings at the hospital on Friday December 6, 2013. WWF-Pakistan is also donating dustbins to the ward.
A ceremony to mark the occasion will be held where Al Baraka’s COO, WWF-Pakistan’s Director and Jinnah Hospital’s Director will be present at the occasion.
During the week leading up to the grand final on Friday, WWF-Pakistan organized poster competitions in their Green Schools across Karachi. WWF also set up games stall and quiz competitions at various malls, hospitals, railway station and airport for increased outreach on pertinent areas of focus such as solid waste management and hygiene.
WWF-Pakistan provided co-branded key chains as prizes to the individuals who provided correct responses to environmental quiz questions.
To act as a reminder for positive environmental acts, WWF-Pakistan donated dustbins to malls where the activity was conducted, ensuring that the activity has a lasting impact not only on the management but also on the visitors of the mall.
