Chile's former President Michelle Bachelet will be the next U.N. High commissioner for Human Rights.
This has stated by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed while talking to a group of ambassadors.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has chosen her and Ms. Bachelet's appointment now has to be approved by the UN General Assembly.
She would replace Jordan's outspoken Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein, who is stepping down at the end of this month.
