Jeddah Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen strongly condemned the deadly attack carried out against a Malian army base in the village of Dioura, in the center of the country, by a militant group overnight Saturday, killing at least 16 soldiers.
Al-Othaimeen described the attack as a criminal and brutal act that aimed at impeding the implementation of the Mali Peace Agreement and destabilizing the country. He urged the Malian government to intensify efforts in curbing the menace of terrorism and to bring all those responsible for the reprehensible act to justice.
The OIC chief extended his profound condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Mali over this painful incident. He also renewed the OIC's unwavering stand against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
