Karachi: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch on Wednesday directed police officers to ensure extra-ordinary security arrangements on the occasion of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary to be observed on 27 December 2013.
He said strict checking should be conducted in Garhi Khuda Bux and all the exit and entrance points of province during Bhutto’s death anniversary. He also instructed the police to enhance patrolling and snap checking at all highways and other links roads, beside ensuring deployment of police personnel at police check posts along highways.
IGP stressed for technical sweeping and clearance at all parking sites around Garhi Khuda Bux graveyard along with deployment of police. He said supervisory officers of relevant police stations should supervise the security and surveillance at all the central routes, beside keeping strict eye on suspected elements or vehicles.
He further directed for conducting prompt and comprehensive intelligence collection/sharing in this regard and deployment of plainclothes security personnel in Garhi Khuda Bux.
