Final updated news: Eight killed, eight injured in Karachi violence


KARACHI: Eight people were killed in different parts of the city on Thursday. Three unknown persons were gunned down by unknown assailants near Mauripur graveyard. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsies.

The bodies of two unknown infants were recovered from the dumping site of North Nazimabad People’s Chowrangi and Teen Hatti PIB colony. After offering their funeral prayers, these infants were buried.

Shahzaib, son of Javed, was shot dead and Ghulam Hussain, son of Muhammad Ali, was wounded in Golimar, Pakiatan Quarters. The body and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMC) for an autopsy and treatment.

Hafizullah, son of Muhammad Anwer, was gunned down by unknown assailants within the remit of Shah Faisal Colony police station in Shah Faisal Colony near A-1 Hotel. Police calimed that the victim was involved in criminal activities and recently released from Central Prison. They suspected that killing might be based on internal gang problems and added that the victim received one bullet in his head. The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMC) for an autopsy, said rescue sources.

Police claimed that Muhammad Younis, aged 26, a bandit, was killed in encounter while his accomplice Sallahuddin and Naidullah were caught by police near Habib Bank Chowrangi, Site-A Area. Police recovered one 9MM pistol, six bullets and one snatched car from alleged bandits. According to the police, alleged bandit wa involved in snatching money from the people. He received two bullets – one in his stomach and other in his shoulder. The FIR was registered by the police. The body was moved to Abassi Shaheed Hospiatl (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

Syed Abid Gilani, 40, was wounded in firing while offering resistance to the robbers within the remit of Shershah police station. He received one bullet in his left leg, said police. Injured was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

A woman, Tasleem Chohan, 40, was wounded in firing while offering resistance during the robbery outside her home within the remit of Tipu Sultan police station in Admin Society, Baloch Colony. The victim received one bullet in her right hand, said police. She was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMC) for treatment.

Daim, son of Muhammad Sadaqat, and Shoaukat, son of Hayat, were wounded by unknown armed men near Jail Chowrangi, Kashmir road. The injured were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMC) for treatment.

An unknown person was shot and injured by armed men near Shafiq Morr. The Injured was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. An unknown person, 20, was shot wounded by unknown persons near KDA Chowrangi. Injured was rushed to Abassi Shaheed Hosital (ASH) for treatment said rescue sources. Riaz, son of Allah Dina, 32, was injured in firing near North Karachi, Power House. Injured was rushed to Abassi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
