Five killed in road mishaps


Karachi: Five people, including an elderly woman, were killed in separate road mishaps while a young man committed suicide in the city on Wednesday. An elderly woman was killed and two other persons were injured when a speeding vehicle hit the motorcycle they were pillion riding near Dumba Goth along Superhighway, within the remit of Gadap police station. The victim was identified as Rani, 80, wife of Yar Muhammad Gabol, and the injured as Khameso 50, and Sakina 65.

The driver managed to flee from the scene. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre JPMC for medicolegal formalities, while the injured were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for treatment.

Separately, a man was killed and another injured in hit-and-run incident near Crown Cinema, Mauripur, within the jurisdiction of Kalri police station. The victim was identified as Asghar 30, son of Muhammad Faisal, and injured as Bilal 17, son of Muhammad Suleman. The driver fled from the scene.

The body and injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi CHK.

One Nazir Masih, 35, son of Ghulam Masih was killed when a speedy vehicle hit him in Akhter Colony. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Hospital JPMC for an autopsy.

A man was killed by a speedy vehicle overran him in Frontier Colony, Site-A area. The victim was identified as Shamshad Ali aged 30. The body was moved to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital ASH for medicolegal formalities.

Meanwhile, a fisher was killed when a speedy track hit his bike. The victim was identified as Bakhat Rehman, 35. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Hospital JPMC for an autopsy.

One Ismail, 25, son of Haider Ali committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Machhar Colony. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medicolegal formalities.
