Islamabad: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that a crackdown has been launched against grey traffic and so far 49 illegal international telephone exchanges have been closed.
Talking to media persons in Islamabad on Friday‚ he said that DirectorGeneral FIA has been given special task to track remaining exchanges through international gateway and the culprits would be taken to task.
About human trafficking‚ he said it has been made clear to FIA and immigration officials that they would be held accountable for any instance of human smuggling or departure of those on Exit Control List.
He said that former Chairman OGRA Tauqir Sadiq got Afghan visa from Afghan consulate in Peshawar on 18th of June last year and then flew from Kabul to Abu Dhabi.
The Minister said Pakistan has extradition treaty with UAE. He said the UAE is cooperating with the Government of Pakistan in Tauqir Sadiq case.
