Karachi: The government has decided to open 50 model police stations in Sindh province, 20 of them in Karachi.
Additional IGP Research Development and Inspection Muhammad Rafiq Hassan in this regard presided over a meeting which recommended opening 50 model police stations to improve ‘Thana culture’ in Sindh.
The proposed model police stations include seven model women police stations: three in Karachi and one each in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpurkhas. In these women police stations lady SHOs, investigation officers and Moharrars would be posed and they would be given required infrastructure and logistic support. These lady cops would be trained with the help of Germany Government Agency, GIZ.
