ISLAMABAD: SSP Dadu Irfan Ali Samu on Friday suspended seven police personnel for allegedly taking away the ration brought to tehsil Mehar of Dadu district for distribution among the fire affectees.

It may be noted that nine children died and more than 20 other men and women suffered severe burns when a fire raged through Faiz Mohammad Daryani Chandio village, some 30 kilometres from Mehar town of Dadu district on Monday night.

The SSP also issued show-cause notices to the SHO as well as head muharar of Faridkot police station besides constituting an inquiry team, with In-charge Complainant Cell Inspector Nazir Ahmad Malah as the inquiry officer. He directed Malah to submit him a report within 48 hours after impartially conducting an inquiry so that the nature of action could be determined against the suspended policemen.
