Faisalabad: Under the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, the ancestral village Chak No.4 Ramdewali, renamed as Arfa Kareem Nagar, of world’s renowned Microsoft Certified Professional Arfa Kareem (Late) is being developed as model village as recognition to her remarkable and unforgettable achievements.
Different development projects worth Rs.140 million have been proposed by city district government for the purpose. Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain held a meeting at Arfa Kareem Nagar and reviewed the development projects on the spot. DCO Muhammad Amin, father of Arfa Kareem Col. R. Amjad Kareem and officers from different departments were also present on the occasion.
The meeting was informed that a monument would be constructed at the grave of Arfa Kareem besides establishment of Library and Museum in the premises. Commissioner said that Girls Degree College and Technical Training Center would also be set up in this village besides up-gradation of Boys and Girls Schools and basic health unit. The establishment of playground, improvement of drainage scheme, pavement of streets, provision of potable water and agriculture equipment were also be included in the scheme for developing the Arfa Kareem Nagar as model village, he added.
Col. Amjad Kareem told that the first death anniversary of Late Arfa Kareem would be observed on 14th January 2013.
