JUHI, Sindh: Hundreds of people took out a rally here on Wednesday against alleged corruption in Education Department Juhi and closed schools. The people coming from several villages converged at Bilal Park from where they brought out the rally which marched through various city roads and reached Dadu Road.
The protesters staged a sit-in on the road and blocked it for one hour, causing traffic jam.
Later, addressing a press conference at Juhi Press Club, Shah Muhammad who led the rally alleged that massive corruption was being committed in Education Department Juhi, which was the matter of grave concern. He said that over 200 schools were still closed in the region, while the SMC school management funds had been embezzled massively over the last three years. He further alleged that funds provided by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank had also not been used properly.
