Blind people can play their role if guided: Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar
Karachi, March 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar has said that blind people are also a part of any society and they must be treated with respect and kindness to enable them to play their due role in the society. This he said while talking to a delegation of Blind Institute of National Awareness Empowerment (BINAE) here in his office on Tuesday. President BINAE Salman Elahi, Secretary DEPD Khalid Chachar ، Deputy Secretary Shahzaib Shaikh and other officers were also present.
Salman Elahi briefed the Special Assistant to CM Sindh Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar regarding the problems the blind people have to face especially in getting jobs. Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar assured him that there should be no discrimination between blind people and other special persons and there should be a certain number of job quota, to be fixed in job quota of special persons. He said that his department was trying to accommodate blind people in public and private sectors so that they might be able to earn respectable living.
He requested to the people to treat them with love and respect and guide them too beside encouraging them to prove themselves an effective member of the society. He added, ‘ No doubt that the Nature has bestowed special persons with great abilities and blind people have too ‘. He assured that Sindh government had focused on rehabilitation of the special persons and had taken many initiatives to facilitate special persons. He expressed his hope that steps taken by government would bear fruits soon.
