Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC has sought comments from Secretary women development department Sindh on petition of employees of women welfare department, seeking remuneration and regularization of their jobs.
The division bench comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui was seized with petition of contractual employees of women development department who moved court against the non-payment of their salaries since July 2011 and seeking court directives for regularization of their jobs.
Naseem Hassan Mastoi and other four petitioners submitted that they are working for women development Sindh on the contract basis but since July 2011 they have not been paid their salaries.
They said that before the devolution of the department the regularization process of employees working on contract basis in the department was in pipeline and now they are supposed to be regularized by the Sindh government.
Petitioners stated that they have served the considerable time, precisely five years and above, and liable to be regularized. They stated that their other colleagues in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, and in Baluchistan have already been regularized by provincial governments.
They said that in view of the non-payment of salaries they had raised their voice and staged demonstrations which annoyed the high officials of departments who are now bent upon to terminate the petitioners.
They prayed to court to direct the provincial government to release their salaries and regularize their jobs.
