COVID-19 claims three more patients, infects 281 others

Karachi, October 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as three more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,474 and 281 new cases emerged when 6,083 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday. He added that three more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,474 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 6,083 samples were tested which detected 281 cases that constituted 4.6 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,117,803 tests have been conducted against which 461,288 cases were diagnosed, of them 93.7 percent or 432,074 patients have recovered, including 506 overnight. The CM said that currently 21,740 patients were under treatment, of them 21,405 were in home isolation, 29 at isolation centres and 306 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 298 patients was stated to be critical, including 27 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 281 new cases, 153 have been detected from Karachi, including 58 from East, South 45, Central 24, Korangi 14, West 7 and 5 Malir. Naushero Feroze 36, Jamshoro 23, Dadu 20, Shaheed Benazirabad 14, Hyderabad nine, Khairpur and Larkana four each, Badin, Kashmore and Mirpurkhas two each, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Sanghar, Shikarpur, Sukkur and Thatta one each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
