KARACHI: Five more people were gunned down in separate incidents of violence, while the body of a drug addict was also found, on Tuesday.
Azmat, 55, son of Ghulam Shabbir Bengali, was killed in firing by unknown armed men in Chakra Goth, Korangi No.1, within the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station.
The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre JPMC for medicolegal formalities. Azmat was on his way to somewhere in car when he was shot dead.
The police said the victim received a bullet in his upper torso and died on the spot.
Separately, a 47year old man, Essa, son of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Lyari, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Russian Embassy, Clifton, within the remit of Boat Basin police station. The body was brought to JPMC for a postmortem.
The police suspected that a personal enmity might be the cause of murder. The police also recovered a pistol from the car of the victim.
Similarly, a 45year old Malik Niazuddin, son of Bahadur, was killed in firing by unidentified armed men in Gulbahar No. 1, Peetal Street within the remit of Rizvia police station. Four persons identified as Wajid, Idress, Nazimuddin and Hatim sustained bullet injuries.
The body and injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem and treatment, respectively.
Medicolegal officer said the victim received three bullets and died before he could be taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ishaq, 22, son of Sobat, was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Farid Colony Orangi Town within the precincts of Mominabad police station. The body was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy. Police have started further investigation into the incident.
Khalid Mehmood, 34, son of Mehboob, was killed in firing in Qayyumabad sector No. 17 within the jurisdiction of Baloch Colony police station. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.
The body of a drug addict, aged around 25, was found from Surjani Town within the remit of Surjani police station.
The body was moved to ASH for medicolegal formalities. Police said the victim might have died due to over dozing of drug.
