Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar says the government is committed to encourage indigenous products in health sector to fulfil local needs.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Pakistan’s first locally manufactured In Vitro Diagnostics solutions and some of their newest products in Islamabad.

The Minister said manufacturing diagnostic equipment locally is a matter of pride.

He expressed the hope that the locally manufactured products would not only fulfill the country’s needs but also find markets in Central Asian states, Afghanistan, Middle East and Africa.

Syed Naveed Qamar said all public sector hospitals must give priority to procuring locally manufactured products after Quality Control and Drug Regulatory Authority’s approval.
