HEC’s planned amendment bill challenged before SC

ISLAMABAD: A petition challenging the proposed Higher Education Commission HEC amendment bill was filed in the Supreme Court on Monday.

The petition was filed by one Syed Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi making twelve persons including the secretary education and chief election commissioner as respondent.

The petitioner contended that the fake degree holders were bent on teaching a lesson to the HEC, thus they should be disqualified under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution and their salaries and privileges so far drawn should be recovered from them. He also attached some news clippings over the matter in favour of his petition.
