IGP orders additional security steps across Sindh

KARACHI: Following terrorist activities and recent blast in Quetta, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari on Monday ordered police officials to take more effective steps for protecting life and property of people in the province, including Karachi.

According to a statement, IGP also instructed that the targeted actions should be made effective to apprehend wanted culprits and proclaimed offenders.

He said that all the units of Sindh police should further boost contacts and ensure exchange of information effectively.

Officers and personnel at police stations level should ensure constant contacts through wireless, while Divisional SPs should check the presence of SHOs and police deployment at relevant areas time and again.

IGP said that all police officers in their relevant areas should ensure additional police deployment at public places, mosques, imambargahs and other important venues, besides conducting snap checking and patrolling. He also directed police to keep strict vigil on suspected vehicles and bikes.
