Kashmir: Kashmiri leadership condemn brutal death of Afzal Guru

Muzaffarabad: The leadership from both sides of Kashmir denounced the cowardly Indian act of brutal of Afzal Guru in Tihar Jail and appealed International powers and global human society to influence India through their diplomatic channels for immediately handing over the bodies Shaheed Afzal Guru and Maqbool Butt Shaheed to their families for a respectable religious burial.

These views were expressed while during all parties protest rally held here on Thursday. In all parties protest rally presided over by the president of AJ&K Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, the chairman Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front Yasin Malik addressed as a chief guest.

The Prime Minister AJ&K Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, the leader of opposition and chief PML N AJ&K Raja Farooq Haider, former Prime Minister AJ&K and the president All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan, former Convener APHC Yousaf Nasim, former president of the state Sardar Anwar Khan, President Jammu & Kashmir People’s Party Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, the president JUI AJ&K Molana Saeed Yousaf and the representatives of different religious and political parties also addressed the public procession.

They censured the curfew clamped in whole occupied State of Jammu and Kashmir for the last five days. Severely criticizing the restriction on circulation of newspapers in Indian Occupied Kashmir the speakers demanded the freedom of speech and expression as enshrined in United Nations Human Rights Charter. They termed the whole valley a jail for Kashmiris. The inhuman, band barbaric acts of Indian State has been criticized sternly.

They urged upon the international and regional human rights organization to take serious not of the so-called largest and secular democracy Hindustan’s heinous crime, depriving Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru of basic right of access to a lawyer in his defence and to undertake all the court proceedings under internationally well-known notorious POTA Act.

The speakers clearly marked this brutal Indian judicial act as a continuation of supersession of Right of Self Determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The leadership termed recent Indian attitude, starting from violation across Ceasefire line until hanging of Afzal Guru, as gross violation of trust building and peacekeeping efforts in the disputed State of Jammu and Kashmir.

“We support and believe in, and will continue nonviolent democratic freedom movement for right of self-determination, till it will reach to its logical conclusion and we appealed UN, European Union, OIC, SAARC, ASEAN and all other international and regional bodies to wake up and come to the rescue of helpless Kashmiri people”, the joint declaration, issued with consensus, they said.
