QUETTA: Government has no policy about health and education. It lacks policies with the result there is no implementation of legislation. Women were leading extremely distressed lives in Balochistan and hundreds of women die during delivery.
These views were expressed by MPA Ghulam Jan Baloch while delivering key speech at a workshop organized by Family Planning Association of Pakistan here Wednesday.
He said every year 785 of one lakh women die during delivery of child every year in Baluchistan and 72 of one thousand new born die.
He said before and after marriage women needs awareness about becoming mother and child health besides the man so that ratio of death could be minimized among mothers and children.
He said a bill about health of mother and child during delivery is ready for legislation and it would soon be moved in the Balochistan Assembly.
He said policies about family planning available in the country but these are not implemented. Only meetings are held.
He said when in Quetta people are deprived of basic facilities what would be situation of those in interior of Balochistan.
Earlier speakers informed that Family Planning project is aimed at to provide underage girls and young mothers and newly born children about their health and reduce mortality rate.
They said most of the deaths are caused owing to small age marriage and non awareness of sex health and inexperience. They urged full campaign in this connection.
