NA passes No Confidence resolution against Imran Khan with 174 votes

The National Assembly on Sunday passed the no confidence resolution against Imran Khan with 174 votes.

With this Imran Khan ceases to hold the office of Prime Minister.

The result was announced by Presiding Officer Sardar Ayaz Sadiq who chaired the proceedings of the house after Asad Qaiser announced his resignation from the seat of speakership.

The National Assembly will now elect a new leader of the House.

Meanwhile, Nomination papers for the slot of prime minister can be submitted by 1400 hours today [Sunday].

According to National Assembly secretariat, scrutiny of the papers will be conducted by 1500 hours.

He said election for the office of Prime Minister will be held tomorrow (Monday).

The House will meet again at 2pm tomorrow.
