NA Standing Committee on Finance & Revenue reviews performance of Customs

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue visited the Customs House Karachi and chaired an important meeting on Thursday to review the performance of Customs with respect to targets and achievements.

Chief Collector Customs, Yaqoob Mako briefed the standing committee over the performance, the challenges and the issues faced by Customs.

The Committee under the chairmanship of Qaisar Ahmed Shaikh applauded the efforts of Pakistan Customs on achieving the targets and improving the facilities to taxpayers, importers, exporters and traders.

The Chairman advised the Chief Collector to ensure provision of maximum facilities to traders to improve the trade of Pakistan.

The issues of currency smuggling, clearance of cargos and super tax were also discussed.

The Committee advised the Chief Collector Yaqoob Mako to frame a clear policy on electric vehicles regarding the imposition of Customs duty.
