NDMA issues fresh advisory as more rains predicted on Eid

National Disaster Management Authority has issued fresh advisory to authorities concerned in view of upcoming monsoon spell on Eid.

In a press release, the authority has specifically advised rescue departments to make personnel, staff and equipment available to cope with any rain or flood-related emergency.

It has also advised the relevant departments to ensure pre-placement of necessary inventory and equipment at identified vulnerable locations to back-up generators for de-watering pumps in case of urban flooding.

Furthermore, NDMA has instructed relevant departments to coordinate with other relevant departments for restoration of roads and pre-placement of necessary machinery at strategic location to respond land-sliding immediately.

According to Meteorological Department, more rain-wind-thundershower is expected in Balochistan, Sindh, Kashmir, Islamabad, north eastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan tonight (Thursday).

Heavy falls are also likely at isolated places in Sindh and Balochistan during the period.
