OIC countries adopt Makkah agreement combat corruption:

The Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the OIC member states, have adopted the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Convention on Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Cooperation.

The approval was given at first ministerial meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the OIC member states, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar represented Pakistan at the meeting, which was attended by ministers, deputy ministers, and senior officials in-charge of the Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of OIC member states.

Speaking on the occasion, Azam Nazeer Tarar called for taking pragmatic steps by the OIC member states to remove all barriers in the way of recovery and repatriation of stolen assets to their countries of origin.

He hoped that the Convention would pave the way for enhanced accountability and integrity among OIC member states.
